Cranberry glass: worth collecting!
There's hardly an antiques show, garage sale or curiosa market where you don't find at least one or two pieces of Cranberry glass. Cranberry glass is that reddish pink (or is it pinkish red?) glass and glassware, that also goes under the name "gold ruby" glass - especially in Europe. Particularly popular is cranberry depression glass, especially when it comes in the shape of a cranberry glass vase.Cranberry glass has been extremely popular since Victorian times, and it doesn't look like the interest is diminishing. It's sought after not only for home decoration but also for collecting: many pieces are becoming valuable and collectable! Fortunately, cranberry glass AKA gold ruby glass is still made nowadays, in good quality, by for example Gibson, Fenton, Pilgrim and Phoenix. With just a bit of diligence, new and antique pieces can be encountered with pleasing regularity.
